Welcome to Strider's Fan Game Domain! This community is dedicated to the development and preservation of fan games, ROM hacks, indie titles, and the tools and resources needed to bring them to life. To ensure the website remains a positive and constructive environment, please adhere to the following rules and guidelines.
- Minimum Age Requirement: Members must be at least 13 years old to join SFGD. If you are under 13, parental consent is required before joining.
- Code of Conduct: All members should treat others with respect, regardless of differing opinions. We value free speech, but it must be exercised respectfully and constructively.
- Intellectual Property: When sharing or using someone else’s work (including assets, code, and concepts), always give proper credit. Plagiarism is not tolerated. If you’re unsure about usage rights, seek permission from the original creator or don’t post it.
- Cooperation & Collaboration: We encourage all members to share ideas, collaborate on projects, and provide constructive feedback. Teamwork is a core value of this community.
- Use of the Tag System: SFGD uses a tag system to organize discussions. Please ensure that your posts are tagged correctly. Using inappropriate or misleading tags is discouraged.
Prohibited Behavior
The following actions are prohibited on SFGD. Violations can lead to disciplinary actions, ranging from warnings to permanent bans.
- Spam: Repetitive, irrelevant, or unwanted content, including unsolicited self-promotion outside of designated areas, is considered spam and will be removed.
- Illegal Content: Do not share content that infringes on copyright laws or promotes piracy. This includes distributing or linking to copyrighted materials without permission. Discussion of such topics or linking off-site is permitted.
- NSFW Content: Any material deemed Not Safe For Work (NSFW), including explicit images, videos, or discussions, is strictly forbidden. Keep all content appropriate for all ages or use a spoiler.
- Harassment: Harassment, bullying, or threatening behavior toward one or more members will not be tolerated. This includes offensive language, insults, and any form of discrimination.
- Respect SFGD Staff: Members are expected to respect staff decisions. If you disagree with a staff member’s action, express your concerns politely in a private message rather than arguing in public. Ignoring or openly challenging staff will result in penalties.
Moderation and Enforcement
Members are encouraged to flag inappropriate behavior or content for staff review. Depending on the severity of the offense, actions will be taken as follows:
Warning: A verbal warning for minor infractions.
30-day Ban: Temporary suspension for more serious or repeated offenses.
Permanent Ban: Members exhibiting severe or continued unacceptable behavior may receive a permanent ban, including an IP ban.
SFGD staff will review flagged posts and use their discretion when determining appropriate actions.
Specific Category Guidelines
The Resources, Fan Games, Homebrew, and ROM Hacks sections are the backbone of SFGD alongside our members. To maintain quality and organization, non-staff posts in these sections will be flagged for review before they are publicly visible. This system helps reduce spam and ensures the content is relevant and properly categorized.
File Uploads
SFGD allows members to upload files in specific formats to share their work. Please adhere to the following guidelines:
Accepted File Types
- Images: PNG, JPG, JPEG, BMP, SVG, WEBM
- Videos: MP4, MKV, MPEG, WEBM, WMV
- Audio: AAC, FLAC, M4A, MP3, MPEG, OGG, WAV, WMA
- Compressed Files: ZIP, RAR, 7Z, TAR
If your file does not fit into one of the categories above, compress it into an acceptable format before uploading.
File Size Limits
Maximum File Size: 250 MB. Files larger than this will need special handling. Contact SFGD staff, and arrangements can be made for file hosting.
We hope that these rules and guidelines will help foster a creative, respectful, and fun environment for everyone. If you have any questions or need clarification, feel free to contact any member of SFGD staff.
Enjoy your time on Strider's Fan Game Domain, and happy game-making!
