Users of the Godot Engine know exactly what I'm talking about. Needless to say a few bad eggs nearly ruined it for everyone. You can watch this to get caught up if you missed what happened. (Video by GamesFromScratch).
I want to make it perfectly clear. SFGD takes a neutral stance on anything related to politics or ideologies. We want to promote games and developers of all backgrounds as that is the primary focus of SFGD as a whole. That being said, that entire situation could have been handled so much better. Godot has released a statement, but I'm honestly mixed on their response.
From where I'm standing, it's a PR non-apology that forces users unjustifiably blocked to prove their innocence and takes zero accountability for the actions of the community managers. Especially the Godot Cafe discord server which is still linked on the main Godot website. (Some of the comments by the admin there were absolutely vile). Thankfully, I believe the worst has finally passed, but it left a very vibrant community divided. Some of which have started their own forks of the Godot engine.
Kinda left that on a bit of a sour note, huh? Well, how about a new batch of goodies?
