I never said I was only maintaining a library of fan games. I'm also contributing! This, my friends is a full fledged remake of the NES classic, Rygar.
Rygar was one of those NES games that i grew up playing and while it's a classic in it's own right, it's not without it's share of problems. For one, you had to beat the game in one go, which was a pain in the keester considering how lost you could get traversing the lands of Argool. It was also buggy in places and a bit unfair in terms of hit detection and enemies spawning in all around you. Bosses kinda sucked too.
What to Expect:
- Widescreen support
- CRT filter (For that nostalgic experience)
- Original, remixed, or orchestral OSTs with support for the Japanese exclusive tracks
- Remappable controls
- Difficulty select for Accessibility
- Time Attack mode for speed runners
- Save system
- New powerups
- Improved controls
- Enhanced jumping
- Better Wind Pulley activation
- The entire NES experience for Windows, Linux, and more!
This is something I'm doing for myself separate from The Syntax Partnership and our projects there. And yes, I'm still helping with MegaMan Uprising. Though I'm not sure if I'm going to make that end of 2024 deadline...
I'll post updates as I have them. In the meantime, enjoy this teaser of the new framework in action.
